Three Layers of China
Imperial Beijing, nomadic grasslands, and Chongqing's neon-lit cliffs — ten days, three worlds.
About this trip
This trip is built around a single idea: China isn't one thing. Imperial order in Beijing, nomadic freedom on the Inner Mongolian steppe, and the wild vertical energy of Chongqing. The centrepiece is the Naadam Festival — three days of wrestling, archery, and horse racing — alongside shamanic encounters, throat singing, and a sheep feast by the river.

Your Local Guide
Hongguer
Hongguer studied art in the city, learned to play modern music, then chose to come back to the grassland. He runs a coffee shop on the steppe that doubles as a cultural gathering point — nomadic herders and visiting academics turn up equally. He'll tell you the grassland is his root. After a few days with him, you'll understand what he means.
