We met Dorje when he was 17. He'd never guided tourists. Six years later, his home is the base for our Tibetan Plateau trips and his community benefits directly from every group that visits.

Village doctor & embroidery teacher · Jidao, Guizhou
Chen Qin converted her own home into a free embroidery training base. Women in her village who previously had no income now earn over 10,000 RMB a year from their craft.
Hongguer
Musician & grassland host · West Ujimqin, Inner Mongolia
Hongguer studied art in the city, learned modern music, then chose to return to the steppe. His coffee shop on the grassland has become a meeting point for nomads and travelers alike.
